LR3 Tethering Issue?

Has anybody encountered any issues shooting tethered at a higher volume/frame rate?

I was shooting an event with my Nikon D300 tethered to an HP laptop (Vista-64)/LR3 and on two different occasions received a Windows error that the Lightroom Tethered Capture application had stopped working.
I was shooting at a rate of probably 20-30 frames per minute. The first time, I had shot probably 150 frames before the error. The second time was after 9 frames.

The disturbing part is that when the capture quit working, the images were not being stored on the camera card or the PC - they were gone. The camera would not store to the card until the USB cable was removed and reset.

Any chance your USB cable got bumped? The little mini-USB connection to the camera is easy to dislodge. I hope that was all it was, otherwise you've found quite a shortcoming in the Tethered Capture feature.

Have you run a test to see if you can duplicate the hiccup?

That's a very good possibility. I was rotating between portrait/landscape.
I had initially done some trial testing before hand and had been able to capture about 30 frames @ 6 fps with no apparent problems. So I figured frame rate would be no problem. I haven't had a chance to investigate further as I've been focusing on processing the event pics. I'll certainly look into that and post my findings.
    Thanks.
