1. Immature Eastern Towhee. In Florida we get both the white-eyed and the red-eyed sub-species.

2. Had a herd of Bison cross my path, when all I had on me was my 150mm macro lens. :dunno

903452569_RgxPk-L.jpg

3. I did get this shot of an anole though.

4. Here is a bird I was not expecting to see during the day. A Common Nighthawk.

5. A Halloween Pennant taken with my 500mm.

It always amazes me how many bug experts we have here... that said... the last shot is great. The color of your background is awesome and a reminder to the rest of us to watch what's behind what we shoot :D

That ode is awesome! The color and background are spectacular! Are the bison free range on a reserve? Great detail on the anole image. I have tried to get nighthawks flying and always fail. Yours show the underside very well with the characteristic white bands on the wings.

Totally agree with the previous comment about the last shot demonstrating how much difference background can make. Great details with a complimentary background... awesome.

I think the white eyed towhees are pretty much unique to Florida.

The Bison are wild and are found on Payne's Prairie near Gainesville. I was surprised at how fast the Nighthawks fly. Getting a photo of them is not easy.

I think the rule is you gotta have a bird in there, preferably an egret or heron.deal.gif

I should probably throw in some more Bison too!

Glenn was cool because he had mammals, a reptile and birds.

Now if he just posted the dragon fly alone or the dragon fly and a squirrel it would have been out of here.
