Texas Rattler

Before visiting the Weaver Ranch, the owner of the ranch caught a rattlesnake in his stable for his cattle. He knew that I had wanted to get some pics of a rattlesnake if possible so he saved it for me as he knew I would be arriving soon. He also had captured an endangered indigo snake which I have seen in the wild but I have not photographed yet. That one got away though. Anyhow, the day I visited we took the rattlesnake out and took a few pics of it, then released it back to the wilds of the ranch far away from his house and stables.

Funny...at my closest I was four feet away but the owner of the ranch was just out of frame with his tongs. I felt safe. Thanks for looking

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

When I was a kid I sat right next to one of these sunning on a rock while I was dangling my feet in a stream. Guess the rattler knew I was stupid and let me be.

    Cool shots, Stephen.mwink.gif

Classic pics of the classic example of a rattler. I like #1, #3, and #4 best.

But I'm with CKJeep - even on my monitor, that snake is too close for my comfort.
What I said when I saw the Grand Canyon for the first time: "The wide ain't wide enough and the zoom don't zoom enough!"
