I just upgraded to the Pro Account last Thursday. What I am asking, is this. What would be a fair Ballpark price to set on my images. (normal images) As in 4X6, 5X7, 8X10, and etc.. I have had 7 sales since Thursday, with a total profit of only $17.99. I think I have my prices set to low. Hope you can give me some good prices, because I sure don't want to price to high and lose sales.

this thread belongs in "mind your own business" so i'm moving it.

pricing depends on so much, rocky. your market, your photos, your reputation, your style of photography, your subjects, and more... if you search this forum (myob) with the words pricing photography, you'll find loads of threads with suggestions and help

    Hello Rocky,

Congratulations on your sales - I'm in the same boat - only just got a pro account last week but I'm still in the midst of setting up my site. Like Any said, there are a lot of factors that play into this. Maybe if you sold that many in a short time, they ARE too cheap.
BTW, if I may ask, how do you direct traffic to your site, and are the people who purchased prints from you strangers? How did they find out about your site, and what types of photos have you been selling?

    Good Luck,
    Kevin

Thanks, Kevin. What helps me, is I have an active list of members that I send email to almost everyday. Almost 500 of them.:): I have a price of $2.50 set on my 4X6's. That might be to cheap, but for now, I will keep it at that.
I also have my 5X7's at $3.50, and my 8X10's at $10.00. What I have sold, is just ordinary everyday shots that I shoot. I'l shoot anything that gets in my way. Hahahaha!

Personally, I think your prices are too cheap for youth sports. Unless you get a lot of orders, you don't even pay for your gas, let alone your time and investment in equipment. Although, I just started shooting youth sports, I have been trying for
    4x6 $10
    5x7 $15
    8x10 $20

*laugh* here I am looking at these prices...

I was charging for the last dance show I shot:
    $0.50CDN for 4x6
    $4.00CDN for 5x7
$10.00CDN for 8x10(12), with a discount for multiples.

And I managed to make a significant profit (200$ or so) from the sales.

    Just my $0.02 (CDN)

    Ouch.

The going rate i have seen is about 6 possibly 7 bucks for a 4x6 and maybe 8 or 10 for a 5x7 and then 15-20 for an 8x10.

My 500 people are members that I have from my Stationery web site that I used to have. I used to make Stationery for Outlook Express usage. I quit that, and am now just devoting my time to Photography.
