Ah, the Nantucket "Demo". It costs > $100 to get rid of your junker (the ferry costs more than $200.) But if you donate to the Demo, it supports the Volunteer Fire Department and gets barged away for free after all the fun has been extracted from it.

great use of dof, allowing us to get a sense of the crowd but keeping our focus on the action. The ones with the big equipment are really great, and I love the close-ups where you can see the caked-on mud and all the detail.

Explain please?
First off, Great photos, I agree about the DOF allowing the people to be semi recognizable while the subject is the cars.

Are people driving the junkers into each other? Does anyone get hurt? Why are some cars on the "lift"?

Can you tell I've never been to a car race, nevermind a demolition derby? :

Someone needs to do this in Alaska. I think it would go over really well around here. Nice pictures! Looks like a fun time!
