Surface map fields in image api

Don,
how about surfacing 3 optional fields in image upload/settings?
  • Latitude
  • Longitude
  • Address
There are, of course, multiple ways to do that - L&L can be one CSV field, address and L&L can be mutually exclusive, or L&L takes precedence - but you get the idea:-)

Thanks!:thumb

Yeah, that sounds interesting, because at the moment I don't know of any way to attach these infos to my jpg-files and have SM recognise them. Or is there a way to attach these infos to specific EXIF or IPTC fields? headscratch.gif

    Thanks,

There's no Address, so you'll never have that option.

Latitude, Longitude, and Altitude will be exposed shortly, though.

Yes, the EXIF spec has extensive GPS support. smugmug already retrieves and uses GPS data from the EXIF, so you can certainly store it there pre-upload and have your photos auto-mapped.

Thanks, I guess I'll have to find a tool that allows me to write GPS data in the EXIF without having to pay a fortune.
    Any hints? mwink.gif
