I had a wonderful opportunity last month to hop around Italy for a couple weeks, roaming Rome on my own before meeting up with David duChemin and Jeffrey Chapman plus a small group of other photographers to wander up through Cinque Terre and Venice.
I'm still culling, and I hope to have a full Journeys thread at some point, but for now, a couple highlights because I'm missing it. Especially after I received a large canvas of my Vernazza image yesterday. I want to go back!
1. View from my hotel window in Rome. *sigh*
2. Fisheye inside the Colosseum
3. One of my favorite memories: last night in Rome, pouring rain, standing in the street in the bus lane, and trying to keep dry.
4. Genova
5. Vernazza
Thanks for stopping by! :thumb

Thanks, Aaron! So far, those are my fav of the bunch, too.
Thanks, Dan! This was my first time to Italy, and I loved every minute of it.

I wish I was half the man that my dog thinks I am...
My girlfriend is in the middle of an Italy vacation right now and between the two of you, I'm extremely jealous!

I am not normally thrilled with fisheye images but, your #2 is great!
What fisheye(s) did you use for those shots??
Art, I used a Nikkor 16mm fish on my D700. I love the 16 + full-frame combo, and it was the perfect balm when I was feeling creatively frustrated. It's hard not to have fun when you look at the world again through a fisheye.
