Its a little strange because the focus seems to be on the right spot and these seem to be made with a macro lens (yes? ) so we should see more detail
how do you process them? do you use smugmug or similar? lets take this baby to the next level

But im still a bit puzzled, maybe the real experts on this forum can shed some light. Try posting some bigger size photos next time, that brings out the details better and gives me/us more to C&C

Think the clean background also helps in bringin out the details (accenturates them more).

the grasshopper shots are a lot sharper, but the paler background will diffuse the light making it more even so not as harsh
