Love the compositions and colours in these but the sharpness or focus is a bit of (or my eyes are getting strained from this monitor )

Its a little strange because the focus seems to be on the right spot and these seem to be made with a macro lens (yes? ) so we should see more detail

how do you process them? do you use smugmug or similar? lets take this baby to the next level

I've not used anything else to compare, but I think its down to the equipment. I am using the 18-55 kit lens with +1 +2 +4 dioptre lenses stacked.

ah, well that may be part of the equation

But im still a bit puzzled, maybe the real experts on this forum can shed some light. Try posting some bigger size photos next time, that brings out the details better and gives me/us more to C&C

well that one certainly looks a lot more like the detail you would expect at the size they are posted in (nice shots BTW! ) did you do something different there?

Think the clean background also helps in bringin out the details (accenturates them more).

Oh well, could just be me

think the bright sunlight is part of the problem, too much contrast.
the grasshopper shots are a lot sharper, but the paler background will diffuse the light making it more even so not as harsh
