Coyotes now live in all of Florida's counties, but you seldom see them. Last October, I got lucky and found one in a field west of the Viera Wetlands at 10AM, and captured this image. I wish I could find some more........

Good capture Ira. I have seen one coyote so far and that was for a fleeting second while it ran across a path.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Thanks Harry........

I have been looking for them for a long time, but outside of some "road kill" this is the only one that I have seen. I got an E-mail the other day suggesting that you can get them to come to you using a predictor call that sounds like an injured rabbit.

Actually, Coyotes are now established in all of the States with the exception of our island State of Hawaii. Here in Florida they have become established state wide, but few residents of the state know that because being nocturnal they are seldom seen.

    Nice shot.

I've had several coyote sightings here in Clearwater, Florida over the past 6 months. We are the most densely populated county in the state!

I've seen three on the golf course behind my office. I grabbed this shot last month in the middle of the day.

My specimen appears to be in better health and better feed than your Coyote on the golf course. Mine was captured on a wildlife management area that runs along the east side of the St. Johns River, west of the Viera Wetlands. Lots of small game and birds for him to eat.

    No Roadrunner!? rolleyes1.gif

    Very nice, Ira.

Usually one thinks of these being Western critters...not so.

No, they are now in every one of the 48 states and Alaska. They seem to adapt to any environment and even do well within our cities. Of course, in the cities they do seem to pray on pets like our cats...........

Mine probably has a diet of elderly golfers who veer off into the rough looking for wayward golf balls. The small game and birds are probably more nutritious than these duffers!
