Help please! I've had the word EMERGENCE rattling in my head all week, like an echo in an empty hall, and it's landing nowhere. I don't know if these are on-topic or even post-worthy. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Is emergence the opposite of submerged, as in #1?

I like the waterlily most, but I would crop it under the white line

    Hello,
Ok out of the three, the waterlily is the strongest image, but Tatiana is right, the white line in the background is distracting.

Is this better? Good enough for this competition? Should I go back to the drawing board?

I like it. I would crop it slightly (apply the rule of thirds for composition)

I like the colors in #1 the most, as the more current entry seems to have some blown (or at least harsh) highlights. I also like the position of the opening petal in the first, as it is appears to be a lowering door/gate for something to "emerge". I agree that the gray line (pipe? edge?) should be cloned or cropped off... possibly going with a square crop?

Thanks for the notes. I actually am going with a different photo altogether which I like a lot better.
