I purchased Photoshop CS3 extended a number of years ago and don't really what to upgrade to CS5. I have a Canon 5D and have no problems loading images using bridge. Photoshop works fine using images from the 5D. I recently purchsed a new Canon 5D mark II and noticed that the files (Raw) are not being read by photoshop. The following message appears "Could not complete your request because it is not the right format"
Any ideas

Sad news for ya, you can't upgrade the RAW converter in CS3 to a version that will read 5D II files. You need to have CS4 or CS5.

You can get LightRoom, I think there are free programs that will do this as well, and convert files on import to dng files and CS3 will read those.

Sam's right. Download the free DNG converter from Adobe's Web site and convert the 5DII .CR2 files to DNG format. CS3 and ACR 4.6 can read those. It's an extra step in the processing, but it will keep you going till you decide that upgrading is worth it.
