a very small fly on gaillardia

Some of our gaillardias have trumpet shaped petals. This guy was sitting on one of them. Quite small, but I had no chance to run in for a longer tube, so I had to crop some. Handheld, 50D, 100mm L macro, 36mm tube.

C&C welcome as always. I know I have to diffuse the flash a bit more--just added another layer, but have not tested it yet.

Quite nice. #2 is the better, I think, focus is good and a lot is in focus. What were your settings for this shot, please?

Good captures- assume it's a Tephtitid fly.

Thanks. Neil--both are with flash, f/9, 1/200, ISO 200. Single shots--I'm still working at getting steady enough to stack handheld shots, but I still rarely succeed.
