Just a few images I wanted to share. Heavy on the processing, but I'm happy with 'em!

The first two are composites, background shot separately from the foreground.
These were from a while back, when I was first playing with strobes. The Yellow background photo was shot with a home-made ring light. I'll have to put up a DIY how-to. Is there a forum here for that sort of thing?

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/antontrax/2384146094/&quot; title="jimmy shoot- by antontrax, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3223/2384146094_0899e2e5ff_b.jpg&quot; width="1024" height="532" alt="jimmy shoot-" /></a>

Love the expression, but the pose wasn't quite right. I should have asked her to breath in and tense-up.

This is the DIY ring-light shot, the background was tinted to match the scarf in post. I love how the ring-light brings out each stitch in the scarf
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/antontrax/2349480911/&quot; title="dave1-3 by antontrax, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3241/2349480911_0b6d77242e_b.jpg&quot; width="751" height="1024" alt="dave1-3" /></a>

Gorgeous girl in a dress with a shoot-through umbrella. It's like cheating, you can't miss:D
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/antontrax/2437241471/&quot; title="Piki1--1015 by antontrax, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2130/2437241471_33ececded2_b.jpg&quot; width="685" height="1024" alt="Piki1--1015" /></a>

Jimmy's a natural in front of the camera. This is in the corner of a white painted room, shoot-through umbrella camera left. each of the Jimmy photos was shot in the same exact spot.

What a great actor!:thumb I just set up the photo, he's what makes the image great. It's true what they say about portraits being a collaboration.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/antontrax/2384139544/&quot; title="JimmyShoot-3429 by antontrax, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3081/2384139544_612240c265_b.jpg&quot; width="1024" height="835" alt="JimmyShoot-3429" /></a>

One more, this one really is outdoors. Montreal is an incredible city to shoot in. You could never run out of great backdrops. One strobe camera right, through DIY plastic diffuser.

Your masking on the second image is much better than the first. There is a white outline around his hands in the first. The second is merged really well, IMHO.
+1 with Qarik, the Jimmy shots are wonderful!

Like the edge in the Jimmy shots. I think I want to see his eyes in more of them. The only that doesn't work for me is #3.

    Thanks for the comments folks!
I'd like to re-shoot the first jimmy shot (big-hands) I nipped off one or two fingers and I'd like to see if I can get sharper detail in the hands. Lots of other ideas to shoot as well

last 2 are my favorite. great job on them, Jimmy's definitely a good model in front of a camera, that always helps.
