    i like the brightness and contrast in this one, and it looks nice and sharp! the only thing that i'm not sure about is his eyes. i think it's your body reflecting in his eyes that's throwing me off on this one.

    Thanks for the comment. The effect in his eyes - two softboxes standing in front of him and me behind them with the camera.

    Lighting is very good. I think however that the straight-on pose is very static. It could benefit from a slight shoulder turn to make it more dynamic.

    Camera too low....If you shoot with the camera at eye level or higher you won't see his double chin as much.

    I agree with both Chatkat and Clixphoto - the straight-on pose doesn't work for me and the camera height is really showing the issues around the chin. The stubble really does lend itself to the BW conversion.
