Yosemite 2010

Hey guys,


Been a while since I logged in here. Got busy with work, but finally managed to get away to Yosemite this past weekend. Our group of 5 had planned to hike up to Half Dome. 2 of my friends chickened out, leaving the remaining three of us to hike to HD. It was a fantastic experience and took us around 6 hours to get to the summit from the valley (8 miles one way, 5000 feet elevation gain). Can I just say that those cables are INSANE. I almost did not go up the cables when I saw them in person, but my friend convinced me to go up (and I am glad I did). I was of course crying like a little girl whenever I looked down. It was just sad!

I only got one more day to shoot some photos. Here are some that I liked. Thanks for looking. :D

    Nice to hear you were able to get out and make it to the top! I've never been up there, and I'm floored by how many people are in that line. :O

    Fabulous images. I love the first 3 especially. There is something magical about #3 - though I may be biased. I love a great monochrome image. Great flow.

    Nice pics. I especially like the first two. Were they taken at Mirror Lake?

    Was the night shot (#5) taken from Four Mile Trail?

    That's right. The first two were taken at mirror lake. The night shot was taken a little off Glacier Point.

    no way am i going up there! hahahaha
    Canon 7D and some stuff that sticks on the end of it.

    Very nice. And inspiring! We're going to Yosemite in August, I really hope I have some time to do some shooting.

    Good series, I was there a few weeks ago but I didn't make it to half dome, I didn't work out enough.

    haha. There's nothing wrong with crying like a little girl! I love your use of reflection in 1 and 2. Your black and white reminds me of Ansel Adams. If you hit Alt 0169 you can get a © mark on your photo! Absolutely beautiful! Now I want to go.
