Good day.

I own a d300s, and it has been good to me so far.. However, at my last shoot, camera developed an interesting issue.

It captures image fine, but has two dots - red and blue on the bottom section of the image. It is no problem to chop em out.. but it is bothering me that they are showing..

I just tried to take a picture with a lens cap on, and they are still there.. :(
So, i am guessing, something is wrong with my sensor..?

What do I do? What causes that?
thank you in advance..

It is likely that these are "stuck pixels", meaning that they simply need to be "mapped" as such by Nikon service. Mapping will make them virtually invisible and is a perfectly normal service operation and it is extremely likely that the camera was delivered with some pixels previously mapped as a normal part of production.

Contact Nikon service and, if they agree per your description of the problem, send the camera in for the mapping service.

Edit: ... and Richy can obviously type faster than I can type. :D
