I'm wondering if these dog shots can be considered emergence...

Because the dog's head isn't wet, it didn't say emergence for me. If he were coming up from being fully immersed, I'd think "emerge".

I took some people shots like this for my first try at emergence. They were more powerful when they were riding from under the water.

    PS Nice looking dog!

When you come to a door... walk through it.
If it's locked... find an open window.

Completely right - the problem is how to convince him to put his head in the water rolleyes1.gif

Yes, I had the idea with people too, but here (at least this region of Ottawa), you cannot take photos
of people in public places - no swiming pool photos - zip :crazy

I almost forgot - sorry - Thank you for the comment :)

I love the reflection of the dog in the water...the golden color is even in the waves. I agree...he needs to be emerging with his head. Can you throw something into the water that he has to go in after? Something he really wants?

    Thank you Kate, rolleyes1.gif

To tell the truth: that was not even my dog rolleyes1.gif

I may find him again by the pond, but as I know dogs don't put their head in the water.
.... and it's rainy too - what other good news? rolleyes1.gif

Yeah, my "other idea" was some swimming shots of the kid, but they just came out looking like snapshots -getting true "emergence" was tricky.

I think your other two possibilities are stronger, FWIW.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that wasn't happy with the shots I got from my kid splashing up from the pool!! Much harder to capture than I thought. I had a couple that I liked (sort of), but no jaw droppers.... Funny that others had the same idea! REALLY great capture of the doggie though Tatiana! :) Thats a framer for sure!!! :)
