Holy Smokey! That's a rare opportunity. I love #2; it's like he knew you were there and was posing just for the shot.

How far away was he? Were you trapped in the blind for a while?
What I said when I saw the Grand Canyon for the first time: "The wide ain't wide enough and the zoom don't zoom enough!"

Thanks everyone I am glad you like the photos and appreciate the posts.
The photo was shot at the edge of a meadow roughly 500 yds from my home. I keep a narrow edge mowed near the woodline which gives me a good place to set my blind up.
This event took in the neighborhood of fifteen minutes to complete from when the bear appeared, plopped down for a nap and left. Had it not been for my neighbor starting my way with his tractor who knows how long I would have had to set in that blind. The second photo is when the bear heard the tractor start and he raised his head to look toward it.
The bear was no more than sixty yards from me at any given time.
The wind was in my favor also, it was very windy and that helped to cover the shutter noise allowing me to get 95 photos.
