Del Mar Fair

The Del Mar Fair is on now and I thought if I want to call my self a photographer I have to have the obligatory spinning ferris wheel shots in my portfolio. I already have the vanishing rail road tracks somewhere. I'm pretty sure I need a bunch of other stuff too.

This is my first attempt at such shots so comments would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone's interested, the complete gallery is here (only 23 images).

Thanks for looking.

    Howdy Chuck,

Love all the colors and neat perspectives, especially the first one across the water and all the reflections.

    Very nicely done.
    Take care,

Nice set, Chuck! I was thinking about heading over there until I saw on their website that tripods weren't allowed in the "Fun Zone" and why it would be called that if I can't set up my tripod is beyond me! Doesn't sound like a lot of fun if you ask me! rolleyes1.gif

Good to see you weren't deterred and pulled some quality images from it! Mind sharing your location where you took there? Looks like from outside the fairgrounds, right?

    Thanks for the comment Chris.

Yes, there's a public trail which is part of the San Diego County Trail system on the South bank of the San Dieguito River behind the condominiums. Just park on the North bound side of Coast Highway right before the bridge.

I understand that trail follows the river all the way to the freeway. There maybe some good photos on that trail so I'm gonna hike it one of these days.

My faves are 3,4. I like the reflection in the lake and the over all scene which I can see how big the whole fair is. I think 4 is a great crop!!!!!!!!

Nice Shots but I am a little bummed. You beat me to the punch. I plan on shooting that same thing from about the exact same spot. I ride the train everyday and have been scoping that out but i will have to find a new perspective. Nice work!!

    Hey Chris and Rob,

I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with. You are gonna post them right? I'm also thinking that that would be a good place to shoot the fireworks from. I'm not sure I can make it then but I'll try.

I'm hoping to get over there, but there's not much time left and my better half has plans for us for most of the weekend. Hope I'll get a little bit to slip away, but we'll see! mwink.gif
