Do statistics include downloads?

I have an album in which the statistics show various hits at various sizes ... but all ORIGINAL counts are 0.

I was wondering, I've set that gallery up to allow downloads. If someone downloads an image, where does it get counted? DOES it get counted?

This was in the Gallery Detail statistics, by the way.

We would count it if you allow originals and if they view originals.

I do allow downloads. And I would have expected a few of the images to be downloaded already. But the counts for Originals is set to 0. A bug maybe?

My instructions to these people has been that they should hover their mouse over the large image on the right and click on the Save button.

Not sure if that counts as a 'hit' I'll have to check.

hi, this is brad, the stats developer

the save button in the right menu is a convenience to make a local copy from the browser's cache, it does not reload the file once again from our server

Brad, I think they were asking about the Save Photo option that pops up when you hover over the main image in Smugmug view (not right-click save). The Save Photo option downloads the original version of the image (which may not be and usually is not in the browser cache).

That is exactly what I was asking about - and it doesn't appear to me that it is being counted as a hit. (or it was not back when I reported this, I have not had an opportunity to check it again since)

Can you double check based on this information that it is being counted?
