I screwed up

So... I set the pricing for a gallery rather than the portfolio option. Is there ANY way to copy the pricing from one to the other or do I have to do this all over again?

Then... I went back and set the portfolio pricing, but used EZ photo... I'm a Bay Photo customer and want to know if I can copy the prices I entered in EZ photo to Bay Photo?? Also, do I have to have an EZ photo account to utilize?

I know, reading BEFORE is often beneficial!!!

Thanks in advance!
Blessings,
Marjohn

    Hi Marjohn,

Ack, we're sorry for any inconvenience but it is not possible to duplicate pricing from one lab to another. Besides base cost differences, there's also a slight charge for Bay Photo's awesome hand color correction (if you enable that option) and the two labs each have a different catalog so some items wouldn't be priced if copying was an option.

If you want to keep your pricing very similar or even the same a great way to ensure this is to open the priced gallery in a window and then open the to-be-set portfolio pricing in a second window. Now, because you can see both you can quickly go through and "copy" the pricing without needing to remember or re-figure the profit. Remember, if you don't want to offer an item for sale you can set it's price to 0 to make it invisible. Don't leave any prices blank or the items will be available at cost.

We offer the use of both EZPrints and Bay Photo through your pro subscription here at SmugMug so, there's on need to open or maintain a separate account with either print lab.

I hope this helps. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask, we are always happy to help.

    Best Regards,

If the shooter's set their prices high enough and they're willing to eat the loss in profit by using Ezphoto prices for Bayphoto processing, there's nothing technologically stopping you from copying product prices from one lab to another.

For cases where there's no 1 to 1 match, either zero-rate the un-matched product's price, and/or "just" show a follow-up screen to show the user what products didn't get priced and let them fill those in as they need.

    Tim,
Due to the way the system currently works, this isn't possible. I wish I had a different answer for you.

You're welcome to add a suggestion to our uservoice pages, but right now we don't have a way.

You have code which reads the price lists in, and code which writes it back to disk.

Are you telling me that the underlying architecture can't handle a simple copy operation in the middle? headscratch.gif
