My First Mantis!

I only see about two of these guys a year and this is the first time I have ever seen one when I had a camera nearby.
Middle of the day, so she was very active. This was a very small insect, maybe 2 inches total length. I have seen them 6"to 8" in the fall.
She wouldnt let me get in front of her, only side or above, so the shots arent the best, but I am thrilled to get anything.

Amazing how when you are excited, your focusing and thinking skills go right out the window! I'm pleased that I got these, but can see things to work on.
