It's all about the DoF - African Daisy

One of our African daisies was in sleepy mode. They close up when the sun starts to go down.

I was toying around with a bit of the packaging foam that electrical goods come in (ya know the thin sheet type stuff) as extra diffusion over the Stofen one I have. I plan on using it in a larger home made model.

Focussed in on the centre of the daisy and was quite pleased with the results.

The shot is pretty much out of the camera. Colour temp reduced a couple of hundred kelvin, contrast tweaked ever so slightly and the lights increased by a tiny amount also. Saturation was reduced.

1/200th @ F8, ISO100, Speedlite on -1 fec

Cheers Phil. I think use of the packaging foam over the StoFen has helped a bit. I intend to use some more of it to make a diffuser similar to the one here:- (6th image down)

Plus also a similar one to the Snoot to Diffuser in the same link. An interesting way of getting the light ahead of the lens if there is no bracket.
