I was able to visit New York City last week and lucky enough to meet our infamous andy for lunch.

So wanting to gain insight on a day in the life of andy, I requested nothing special just a regular day. :D

What would we do first? :scratch Go to B+H of course. What to do there? SOP of course, buy a lens, flavor of the day..... 85/1.2.

33196138-M.jpg

with that taken care of time for lunch. MMmmmnnn steak.

33196147-L.jpg

33196151-M.jpg

Baldy was gracious enough to ring in.

33196154-M.jpg

Mission Accomplished. :eat

33196152-M.jpg

Thank you andy for the great steak lunch. :thumb It was excellent and I will have to return there on my next trip to NYC and B+H since they are so close to each other.

and what post would be complete without my macro attempt of a dragonfly. :D

    I'm confused.....
I just checked the fleamarket and didn't see the 85 1.2 up there yet, did you wear Andy out? lol3.gif Well it looks like you had a good time, and got well fed. But I wouldn't really expect anything else. So did you have to use the 10-22 to fit that steak in the frame or what?

Those steak pictures are making me hungry. No fair.

I can't beleive andy had to stand in line like a normal person at B&H. I thought for sure he would get to walk right into a private VIP room somewhere and relax in a big leather recliner while their staff got him his stuff.

And I'm with Harry how can you not make a stop at starbucks?

    :( not quite lunchtime yet.

dang, patch - that was a fine fine steak, wasn't it? uncle jack's did *not* disappoint :food excellent piccies, too!

the bh trip was a good one - it really pays to buy in-store, as you saw, i refused the first copy of the 85 1.2L they brought out for me, there was a big dust bunny inside... the second one's the charm!

thanks for the lunch report - fun!

    see you soon.

So Henry does that mean you like my VIP room idea? Just think of the big big spenders it could bring in. And think of how much more money andy would spend if he was relaxed, eating, and drinking something. deal.gif

    You lucked out Patch thumb.gif

I've never gone to B&H with Andy, but I (and my waistline rolleyes1.gif ) can testify that the only thing better than shooting with Andy is the meal afterwards :eat

How he maintains that girlish figure consuming all that red meat, starch and all those lattes is beyond me lol3.giflol3.gif

I've even come to believe that's why Andy is such an Ultrawide kinda guy. UW is perfect glass for shooting food shots at dinner.....lol Now those are some memories clap.gif

    Hi Henry,

Would it be possible to have my pension check sent directly to B&H? Since I'm just the middleman now this would really speed things up when I order stuff.

B&H is about the only thing from NYC other than Andy that I miss since I moved down to Florida.

I don't think andy has one of these yet. I am sure the B+H can get him 95% of the way there and to think andy has been selling all of those unused lenses. rolleyes1.gif1drink.gif

I'm looking forwards to your next trip this side of the pond... Maybe a limp leaf salad and a trip to Jessops?

    (I think not... :): )

The least they could do is offer a champagne room on release night for new cameras andy buys, sort of a camera christening. :D

And to think I was going to save up some money and go in there and do an andy style shopping spree. But if there's no VIP lounge, I guess I'll have to use the money on something else. Maybe a 1995 twin turbo nissan 300zx.

    10% :cry

Depending on what you buy, it isnt a whole lot more than shipping. But if you are doing a big white lens purchase.....
