I've been travelling through England last few weeks and found this spot in the Lake District, Coniston. It was about 7am.

I'm not sure the PP is right - will likely revisit this edit when I get home to Australia next week. Any thoughts are welcome.

Looks nice to me. And I'm totally jealous-- the Lake District is supposed to be awesome for landscape photography!

i really like it... except that i find the rocks in the foreground a bit distracting. the breathtaking part of this pic is the cloudy hill and its reflection... so maybe you could focus more on that? just a suggestion...

    Thanks for the comments everyone.

I did think the same nazquel, so tried a tight crop. The scene lost it's depth and I preferred how the rocks and bank lead your eye around.

    I also tried this crop:

I like the pano the best. I think that the rocks in the foreground add to the composition. I'm not sure distracting is the right word, however. The foreground elements have very good contrast and your eye is naturally drawn there. They don't seem able to lead you into the rest of the picture, however, which is what I think you want. The bright water to the left will also pull your eye away. Perhaps try and reduce the contrast/exposure in the gravel on the beach and burn the water slightly to darken. The sky is also a little bright and a good trick to try may be to apply an exposure gradient from the top to about the bottom of the trees by the water. That might add some additional depth and help move your eye into the picture.

i think its a question of "wandering" into the background or being "led into" it as hawkeye said. i would normally prefer the latter, but being surprised with an "OH WOW" was also kind of cool.

Nice stuff. I like the rocks. If anything it might have been nice to use them even more prominently. Lovely as is.
