You never know

Hi you'll,

One of the fun things about shooting in the wetlands is that you never know what you're going to find.

snowy egrets are regulars there
32571271-L.jpg

I have been trying to get a shot of a Least Bittern for awhile and was thrilled to finally catch one. He is the smallest of the herons.
32571290-L.jpg

If you look carefully you can spot the occasional woodpecker
17020536-L.jpg

You also get to see the bird are various stages of their development. Here's a juvenile tri-colored heron. He will lose the rusty color as he matures.
32571306-L.jpg

This is a juvenile Little Blue Heron. He is just losing his white coloring and turning blue.

31727040-L.jpg

You can even find a night heron every one in awhile. Here's one of the sneaky buggers trying to mix with a flock of cattle egrets
32571289-L.jpg

One thing you can safely count on is seeing an osprey.

    Wonderful series of shots, Harry.

That night heron is kind of funny hanging out in twigs that look like him. Cool.

Also that Bittern, I don't think I have ever seen one of those, either.

I don't know what Harry will think, I am sure he will love the avatar. I do. Though I was getting used to the sucky one. It was nice to see that you had not achieved perfection in all things, haha.

And how long ago would you have expected that you would even have a photo like that, to say the least of an avatar like that.

Done good! (kind of a strange crop, though. It must be a Ben thing, cut off bird feathers and body parts.)

I am real happy to know that that terrible rust color was not the result of some terrible error on my part in some of the shots I got a week or so ago. I had no idea that they were normally that way as juveniles.

Really appreciated that info. That snowy is gorgeous!, I do agree.

Cool, I got my new lens last night, close to 8 PM. I did what any normal sick person would do. Closed the front door in my dog's surprised faces, got in my car and tried to find some/any light.

So embarrassed, didn't post, but they would fit this forum just perfect. Best shot I got was of a house!

Now that I know that it is wide........... open............. if I get over my embarrassemt, do I post it on this thread, or my own: and is it a nature shot. The water is all around the house, w a weak sunset.
