Shout from the SWMBO yesterday. Went into the kitchen expecting to see a bee or dronefly and found one of the large Ichneumon wasps I've been trying to get some decent shots of on the window.
Trapped it with a glass and piece of card. Put a spot of honey on the card to see if it would calm down and feed. It didn't, after 5 mins of watching it frantically trying to escape, took it out into the garden to release it, put the glass on it's side and it then immediately calmed down and started cleaning itself giving me time to take a few shots before it eventually took off.

Scott - think the crop quality is more the camera than the lens (a 5Dmk2).

Have you ever tried to put Tele Converter before MP-E 65? Is it possible to achieve more working distance that way?

I have once used a TC on the MPE-65 but that was to get to 10X with an additional dipter on the front too.
After using the MPE-65 for a while you don't tend to have too much of a problem with the short working distances. Often only be shooting very small bugs at 5X and they don't take too much notice of you.
