Q: Is it a pine?
If so, they look different than what we grow in BC.

Not like your pines though.
Up here, when someone says "pine", we think of an evergreen tree that has needled leaves and is conicle in shape. Some of these trees have been known to be harvested and displayed at Christmas time. A certain strain was/is well known for the making of cabins, too (lodge-pole pine).
