I don’t function well with hot weather (33°C and above), so the only thing left for me to do was to sit in the garden out of the sun.
Thats when I spotted these small spiders, living in holes in leaves. (2-4mm).
when I stroked the underside of the leave, the spider would leave the hole and stay a few moments on top of the leaf.
a closer crop
only it didn’t stay long enough on the top side to be sure I had a good shot so …
i broke of a tiny twig, got the spider out of its hole and plugged it.
It didn’t like it, but after a few shots I removed the plug.
another closer crop
It’s friend a few leaves further on was the next target.
Only to get a descent image I had to focus stack 3 images to get this.
Pentax - K20d – raynox dcr20 + kiron 105mm = 2.1:1 macro and off camera flashes.
f8->f11, iso280, 1/125sec
Cheers

Thanks Brian,
I think they are crab sprides, but the smallest I've seen.

Thanks Chrissiebeez,
I use flash diffusion, (diffraction I don't know when It comes to flashes), and I'm still figuring out how to get the best results.
Although I've got the feeling I'm getting closer.
Ronny
looking forward to more of your work
