Hello all! It has been quite a few months since i've posted here, but I thought this would be the place to go to get some pretty solid advice on travel photography, as I haven't done much in my long 18 years of wise age.
ANYWAYS! I am leaving on sunday for France to visit a side of my family I haven't seen in close to 11 years. Very cool stuff. The place where we go is in the Southwest of the country, so it's pretty rural. Of course, there will be plenty of landscape photos to be taken and photos of old buildings (Including a chateau that's been in my family since the 1400s) and all the regular stuff. What I am really asking advice on is the Marché (the Farmer's Market) which is held every Thursday.
Since I have not done much travel or people photography (aside from sports), what do people have for suggestions? Everything from what lens is appropriate to who or what I should focus on would be extremely helpful. I want to get some really interesting photos, not just ones of fruit and old people.
PLEASE! any bit of advice would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Nikon D90, Nikon D50, 85mm f/1.8, 18-55mm f/3.5, , 70-300mm f/4.5, Nikon SB-800, I am not a fan of lightweight tripods.......this is what I would take from you grear list...OR I would rent but you do not have time to rent and receive...but I would have gone for the fastest zooms like a constant F4 in the 12-24 range for landscapes, a 70-200f2.8 for people and wildlife and also possibly a 24-70 for people in side of churches and things like that.........
At least 5 - 8gb memory cards and that is if you have a laptop or harddrive to dump to....if not then at min 10........SHOOT IN RAW ONLY .......do not waste card space by shooting raw = jpg and do not take the chance of only shooting jpg, you will want the extra room raw affords for processing these pix.........remember yo9u have not been back in 11 yrs.............
Good Luck
Anyone for technique/content advice?
