Hello,

I am looking to purchase a slide-in(drop in 4x6) filter holder+filters kit that will work with my Sigma 10-20mm 1:3.5 DC HSM Wide Angle. I plan to buy a GND filter slide in filter. I also want to use it with my other non-wide angle lenses as well(35mm prime and 18-200mm). All of the research I have done says The Cokin dropin filters will cause vignetting so that's not an option. I heard that LEE will work but I have no idea where to start in regards to what needs to be purchased. Can someone advise on what I can use/should buy? I do most of my shopping on http://www.bhphoto.com.

Thanks so much!

-Joel

    I agree with ziggy here.
Lee is a very good company and they have a super wide 150mm filter holder and filters that were supposed to be out
    in June......

Also look at Singh Ray filters they are top notch also.

Unfortunately it seems June was a little optimistic as it's not out yet. In the meantime, the Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 uses 82mm accessories. You could use the Lee Filters Adapter Ring - 82mm - for Wide Angle Lenses with the Lee 4" (100mm) filter holder.

I am looking to purchase neutral density filters , I have a Canon 7D and a 5D, and a 16-35mm lens, that takes an 82mm filter, as well as a 24-105, that takes a 77mm filter. My 70-200 takes a 77 also, I think from what I have read I would lean towards towards the drop in type, graduated, but am curious about what brand has the best quality as far as image goes, and any advice on what size, and density would be very welcome. I take mostly nature, scenic, and wildlife, but am going to Patagonia in April, and thought I should invest in filters for the trip. Any suggestions???

I have the Cokin Z system and unfortunately didn't have the adapter ring for my 16-35 when I did my trip in Oct. So I held the 4x6 up to the lens. Which can be an option, but a pain.. Unfortunately I can't really try using it until my lens comes back from repair. I did the Cokin Z package which came with the holder, case + 3 GND filters. Since nobody ever had the Circ-Polarizer in stock, I ended up buying a B+W 115mm I believe, and a step down ring that I'll eventually attach to the Z holder somehow...

Lee does make some good specialty filters and glass ones as well, which is the only thing I hold against the COkin system, they are all resin. Next 4x6 will be the reverse GND for sunrise/sunset shots.

ETA- Guess not all lee's are glass, they make resin too. Oh well.
