A couple days back I post a pic of some young Eagles in a nest that I found near Spokane, WA. When I took those pics, the adult Eagles were no where to be seen. I went buy the nest again yesterday on my way to work and took these pics. The nest in the of of a very tall tree. I also did a bit of cropping with these pics.
I was using my Sony a700 and Tamron 200-500mm on a tripod for these pics.

Comments welcomed.

Thanks, Ron

Nice series, Ron. Good light and nice colors. It's nice to see some more unusual poses and expressions for a change; you caught him just "doin his thing," apparently oblivious to anything around him. That first shot makes him look like a buzzard, the way his head is turned. Fun shots!

He sure has some expressions on his face rarely seen! :) I can almost count the feathers. What is that red rope?

I think that is bailing twine up in the tree. Who knows how it got up there!! I also thought that these were some expressions not often seen.

    Thanks for looking!

I agree they are some different angles on the bird. Is the bird sitting above the nest?

Yes Dan, the nest was below. Here is another picture, but from another day and not near as nice light.

    Very nice!thumb.gif

The only thing I would suggest is probably impossible and that is getting a better angle.headscratch.gif

    Ron,
A stunning series. It is so fun having such majestic birds so redily available. I have a pair that work my section of the river and must live nearby. They fly over the house often.

Thanks Colby and Harry! I love watching Eagles. They are so majestic and simply demand attention.

I love shot #2 it is such a cool pose. I suppose there is no way to remove that stick they carried up there with that twine attached? maybe if you are in a populated area the fire dept might like some practice. I have seen owls legs hooked on that stuff and hanging upside down it is soooo dangerous for even the large birds never mind their young.
