Image Sizing for uploading to smugmug site

I have always uploaded my photos at full size and resolution to my Smug Mug site. Am very happy with the way they look. I never tick Original Size in my Gallery Settings - I usually tick XLarge because no smaller size is available that I can see.
I have friends telling me I should never upload my photos full size because of image theft, that I am crazy and should upload a smaller lower resolution image.
Recently I started using a small watermark and ticking the prevent right click option (I just updated from a standard site to a power site).
I do realise that if someone wants to take an image illegally they will find a way to do it.
How do other SmugMuggers tackle this dilemma.
Do other users upload smaller size images.
Just wondering
TIA Lesley

You should be aware that right click protection is not protection at all. It is merely a very small stumbling block. See ORIGINALS = a gateway to free photos, & right click protection is NOT PROTECTION.

One more question - In my Gallery Settings, I have set the largest size as XLarge because that is the smallest option available. This is still a good size image, is it possible to set up a gallery so that only Medium size photos are displayed to viewers.
Thanks for your time - Lesley
