On Tiptoes

She is 3 and can't wait to start doing the dishes.
She is always at my side when I do them, on top of her little chair.
She finally manuevered herself infront of the sink and asked to them herself--so I let her--mainly spoons and plastic cups. I wonder how long this "please let me do the dishes" phase will last?

This is one of the shots I got. Looking back I wish I had gotten more of her, but I wanted to concentrate on her being on her tiptoes.
I processed it like crazy for a soft look.

C&C appreciated.
No flash used--shot with available light.

How long will it last indeed. :D Hopefully, very long. Keep going about things
the way you are and it probably will.

Definitely like the shot and elements in framing.
The socked feet crossed a bit on the wood chair. Neat.

I was thinking Liz that about a 10th or so of the left frame is unneeded. And
that having almost but not all of both her legs just left of center works better.
Nice amount of soft. I love soft images in varying degrees. + for me
there's this washed look that just not quite get'n it and fails the images
total value. Needs some contrast to be finer IMHO.

Its a nice piece. Just think it needs a bit yet. :D

    Thank you.
I do wish I had gotten more of her so that it didn't need a story/explanation, but I'm glad you liked both.

    Hi DaddyO,
I agree on the cropping. I'm trying to keep the same ratio as before, here is the new crop.
I wasn't sure about your suggestion re: higher contrast. I reworked it and i must say I like it. I don't like the shadow being darker, but I like the look of the colors. Reminds me of a magazine from the 50's.

    Thanks:D.

Ton of difference Liz. Nice job. Way mo better I do believe. thumb.gif
By contrast I meant just what you did. Bring up your darks against the lighter color.
The washed look is gone. Theres more pop in its place instead. I agree
about the shadow. Its possible to get rid of it I think. Like how you took
the dark floor out too. :D

I just got Lightroom 3 two days ago and will eventually figure out how to use it. I hope to get the shadows out of this shot someday.

    Thanks for your input.

Cool you picked LR3. Pretty nice features in LR to use.
Worked on taking the shadows out. Not so easy without detailing pretty
    heavy. Reshoot best I think.
Keep the shadows out of that effort to start with. Got a different location
in the house that has little or no shadows on the cabinet that looks
similar maybe? If ya just have to go with natural light :D
