Wearing 2 cameras around my neck during a wedding is really starting to kill me...lol.....and slinging my second camera over my shoulder feels awkward when moving alot, and I'm always worried its going to fall off because of the weight......I was looking around for a new strap and was wondering if anyone has had any experience (good or bad) with either the sun sniper or black rapid straps.....they look much more comfortable and convenient, and seem like it would be fast when I was switching back and forth.

thanks

Kevin

I use a Cotton carrier system. I absolutely love it. You can wear it ALL DAY long with two cameras and it will never bother you.

I've been using my Black Rapid double sling for this season's weddings and I am in love. Seriously. I've shot for 12 hours with a 70-200 hanging off one of my shoulders and I've been fine the next day. Last year I was dead for at least a day after every single wedding. It stunk so bad. I 100% recommend BR straps and doubt that I'll ever use anything else. They are worth the money.

Works all the same with flashes mounted. The flash just sticks out in front of you more. I even use it with a big ol' flash bracket. Love it.

does the camera seem to hang secure?....that was a concern of mine...just that little screw in the bottom....I read some reviews that said it would come loose....big concern with a few thousand dollars hanging on the end..lol :)

At first I was paranoid about it. Checked it every second. But I have yet to have the mounts come loose at all. Even at the end of the day, everything is still nice and tight. I've definitely come to trust it. I think I'll wind up buying one of their new attachment dohickeys for my 70-200, but it's an awesome system. I wound up using half of the double strap at an engagement session, and even while riding on the back of a Harley, and it's versatility was awesome. Being able to easily go from 2 straps to 1 is a great space and general PIA saver.

we discussed safety tethers as a means to increase confidence in the rapid strap. check this out:

I use a BR Strap and love it. I read that thread on them having problems. Seems to be with the earlier models and I check mine regularly and no problems at all. Can wear the camera all day long and don't even notice the weight.

I have a link to where I purchased it from higher up in that thread. It was $8 or something shipped for two of them. Then just pick up a small locking carabiner of your choice and you're good to go! thumb.gif

Black Rapid all the way. I had MAJOR neck issues after Catalina and carrying 1-2 cameras around my neck. As in, ER and xrays afterwards with nearly no range of motion in my neck. The Black Rapid sling strap hasn't given me a moment of tension or tightness and is basically all I use now (aside from the hand strap on my D200).

Totally worth the money. And if not, many willing to buy it off of you :)

BR all the way here. Great product. I hook mine though the loop on my Kirk camera plate with a piece of climbing webbing. I used to swing from cliffs with that stuff so I am sure my camera will do just fine.

I bought the BR-4 to try it out and love it it thumb.gif I am one of those guys that has that extra padding up front and carring a camera in front of me never works well, with the BR you just swing it up and its there, I will be looking into the double here very soon.

Using my BR strap with my A900 & VG & 70-200 for 8 to 10 hours at XC races; no issues, I doubt I will use anything else.
