Holland, or the Netherlands (what you like), is small and full of people. Remote places are rare. There is one, we use it for interstellar radio space survey. In WWII the Germans used it to do what they like to jews. Every brick stands for 1 jew that not survived after leaving this camp, they where send to Auschwitz-Birkenau and killed on arrival. Thanks to the USA, Canada and the British, I do not speak German, but the language of my ancesters, Dutch and a little bit English.

Sad that the site serves as both a memorial and a place of research. Some type of screening (i.e. trees) would help focus and isolate the memorial.

PS- As an American, I thank you for remembering the sacrifices made by so many countries in WWII. Too many people take their way of life for granted, (including Americans). I understand that the Nazi's were slowly starving the entire country to death.

PPS- I think if you crop a bit off the top, one would focus more on the bricks than the sky.

Cornelius, I saw a piece of these bricks somewhere the other day and was really curious what the story was. Thanks for filling us in. Being an American I tend to think we get way to involved in the worlds issues but in this case I am glad it affected your life in a positive way, you are happy about that and not just a US hater.

I like the way the bricks are arranged to show the diversity that was lost. I think Seefutlung suggestions will help a bit. Cheers, I look forward to seeing more of your images.
