three to choose from todays shoot. All comments are welcomed! Does it work or should I think of something else?

The first two would be titled..."Step on a crack and break your mothers back!" (that dates me I bet!)

wow already great start! #3 for me. I think it might need straightened but that may be the lines deceiving me? if you moved the 3 pots on the right you would also have stripes on the railing visible like the house stripes! that is alot of stripes!!!

Joyce I think they are all adorable but I don't think of strips when I see them.
For me, I think the shadows and your daughter are more the subject than the decking.
Please take this with a carton of salt. I do like them all.

I'm sure others will chime in soon.

How in the world do you always think of things so fast? I need to borrow your brain.

    Peace always, gail

Thank you Amanda and Gail for your comments!

Amanda...I really thought of moving those pots but they are too heavy for me to do it and I wasnt going to try as I have a horrible back!

Gail...I felt that way about the shadows on the first two also. I lean toward the #3 but not sure if it is strong enough for the theme as there is so much going on. Thank you for your comments. I really feel like I was in a slump today with my graphic designs for work and this challenge was sort of a distraction for me and one bored 11 year old. But still not sure if its strong enough and if something else better comes along I will go for it.

I like the railing better to represent stripes. The decking has all the wood grain in it which kind of distracts from the stripes of the planking.

Very nice images, but I'm wondering (for myself) if those are stripes... headscratch.gif

This is what I found in the dictionary (internet) for the definition of stripe(s):
A long narrow band distinguished, as by color or texture, from the surrounding material or surface.

I like #2 if everything but the shadow was cropped out.

i really like what's happening in 1 and 2, but the top right corners are not totally clean. i'd love to see more of the feet in 2, and none of the misc background stuff there.

I like #3. The planking looks like stripes to me. I love that all the stripes point to the girl. You might try this again, but remove all the removable items on the deck to eliminate distractions, so that all you see is the stripes leading to the girl. Does that make sense?

I can see where Mark is coming from with #2 as it is an interesting image, however for me #3 is most definitely "stripes". I agree with Kate for me the stripes in #3 all lead to your daughter and I really like the perspective. I agree that there is a lot of distracting "clutter" around the edges and suggest re-shooting after a) you have removed what you can and/or placing your daughter in the angle between house and deck so that she is bounded by stripes on the x & y axis (just my humble suggestion).

Because of rain and rain and rain some more I havent been able to even attempt a reshoot...as well as the pots are not going to be able to move...they really are too heavy. However I did have some time today to take this one and play with it some to remove background clutter some plus lesson the effects of the pots. If we get a break in the weather and I have time to try something else I will...but how is this one...

I really like how all the stripes lead to the girl. I like the stripes of the boards, and I like the stripes IN the boards. I like this photo a lot.

Like your last post best of all. Still not 100% sure it makes me think 'stripes' though. Probably just me.
