You are correct, I went back and noticed how everything in the picture was sharp, not just the car.

I used a 10-20mm and grabbed a bunch of shots framing the grandstands, I panned a bit at that location, but being so close to the wall you really have to throw your camera to the right and hope for the best Here's one of the better images from that spot while panning
