There he was, about 130 yards away, a small speck on a branch, ah what the heck, had to at
least document seeing one. Shot against bright sky 828 f/8 1/400 Tcon1.7 and digital zoom. This
is a small crop and converted to B&W but I kinda like the results.

    Yep that's one of those lousy kingfishers. They know just how far away to perch so you can't get close enough to them. Good idea to go B&W on the shot.

    I know of two other places they perch but I probably would have to sit in a blind for hours before one would show up.:cry

    Against the sky that far out, ugly, B&W was the only way to save it.
