How do you manage your galleries?

I'm not a huge fan of the SM interface for managing categories, sub-cats and galleries. I was wondering what everyone else out there uses for managing that stuff. I use the Lightroom SM publish plugin, so I don't really need an uploader or anything like that, I just want a visual interface to my site I guess. Something where I can make bulk changes to settings (per branch of the tree if possible) would be great.
I've played a bit with Smug Browser for Firefox in the past, and it looks pretty good, but it doesn't seem to be maintained anymore (as far as I could tell) and it looks like when I pull up the settings, it at least pulls in the wrong setting for Comments, so I'm not sure I trust it to get my settings correct...
Anyone have any better suggestions of what to use?
