I spent a delightful week at the coast...no internet, newspaper or house phone. I did borrow a Blackberry to find out the challenge topic, tho!

Here's an idea for critique: Carefree

I really like this idea! #1 is my favorite....I can imaging sitting there and seeing the vast water, waves and sky. Ahhhh. Looks like a great place to vacation!

Great idea. Nice, simple, peaceful. But I find myself wishing there was more of the reflection (of the chair and towel).

I like #1 where you can see more of the ocean. Great idea--wish I were there!

Like ghinson said, i think you can create a much more interesting composition if you play with the reflections, especially of the towel.
Also, what focal length are you using? I'm thinking this would be more interesting either very wide or very telephoto.

Thanks all for the comments. I, too, am missing something in the comp. since I'm hone, now, I'll look through my frames to see if I have one that can address the reflection and wide angle considerations.

If not, I'll just have to travel again to re-shoot!!

Please check back in a day or so to comment on whatever I find to re-post.

    thanks a bunch, Chris

15524779-Ti.gif and whilst of these I think #1 is the best I want to see more of the towel. Perhaps by shooting from a position more behind and less offset from the chair so you get the towel, chair & an expanse of ocean.

I like #3 more because more stripes are showing on the towel... if it was maybe cropped differently?

I agree, a reflection of the chair and all (or part) of the towel would really make this piece "pop."
