Ichneumon wasp (I think)

Spotted this little guy/girl outside in the garden. I think it's an Ichneumon Wasp although Paul, Phil or Brian will be able to correct me.

It was quite happy to sit on my finger and be moved about.

I'd transferred it onto one of our African Daisies and then onto a Lily where it proceeded to get itself covered in pollen off the lily stamens. As I can't stand Lily's, I moved it onto a different flower which I think is another form of Daisy.

I've posted the flower shots first but the ones on my finger were taken prior.

The pollen in #2 and teh crop is great. The "finger" shots are a bit close for me and anything called a wasp, but are cool shots.

Lovely series of shots- certainly looks like an Ichneumon wasp. Very unusual to get one on your hand - they are normally very flighty/nervous insects.

Thank you all. I'd found this on a shrub in the garden and had taken a shot there but it was a little uninteresting. I put my finger on the leaf and gently touched it and was quite surprised to see it climb on. From there on it was happy to be transferred from place to place. When all was done, took it back outside and put it back where I found it. :)
