Moth & Apple

This moth was in the kitchen last night (and I think it is the Beautiful Golden Y moth, Autographa pulchrina, or it's near relative the Plain Golden Y moth, A.jota) and it alighted on an apple. Sort of. Well, when I mean sort of, it landed in the fruit bowl, but it was on a banana, so I had to nudge it with my finger until it was on an apple.

Once there, I lifted the apple out and set it down at an easy height to work at, and took a couple before the moth made a dart for the fluorescent tube above my head.

C&C as always.
