Cliff jumping

I don't know if you'd call this a sport, or just crazy-people watching, but here you go. Last week I went to photograph some waterfalls in a deep river gorge. There were a bunch of local kids swimming in the pools and a couple of crazy guys jumping off the cliffs into the river below. I stink at judging distance but I say it is at least a 50' drop from where this guy jumped to the water, which is significantly below where he is in the last frame.

This is a 6-shot sequence taken at full speed with my Canon 40D. I fed them all into Photoshop to merge them together. That gave me most of the composite and then I manually pasted in a few of the jumper images that got lost in the image overlapping that PS did.

I'm tossed on how to finish this thing off. The rough 'step' edges bothered me at first, but then they grew on me as they clarify the sequence of images in the composite. I am also pondering whether to leave the 2 black corner areas blank or paste in a closeup of the jumper in one of the areas.

Thoughs? Feedback? Thanks!!

How about a single frame. Any more entertaining?

some people don't surf at work :D

I'm not sure how to suggest fixing or even if fixing is needed. The shot is interesting. Perhaps the only way to get rid of the stair-step is to have shot wider to begin with.

If you want to get rid of the stairsteps, and I'm not saying you need to, open up a new background in Photoshopthat is much larger than your image there, make it totally black, then drag that image onto it.. Then rotate the dragged image 45 or 60 degrees, whatever it is, and then crop the whole thing..

But you have to give up your current orientation, unless you then put that new image on another background..

Then again, you could just make a poster out of what you have by filling in some text in the upper right...
