Waiting for Baby Olive

This was my first shot at maternity. My sister-in-law has been so sick but has never had maternity pictures done, so we were determined to take them with Olivia (her 3rd) before she gets here. She's supposed to be on bed rest but she powered through and we did these in about 20-30 minutes in my parent's yard. I did notice that due to her pregnancy her chin and face were a little bigger than usual, so I did a lot of shooting from a stool above her to minimize some of that. Her other two kids were playing in the yard around, so they occasionally wandered into frame and I shot some of that despite their somewhat grubby clothes.

Shot with the D80, 50mm 1.8, natural light.
C&C Welcome. Thanks for looking.

Beautiful colors and light in this set!! And a beautiful lady! I think 1 and 9 are my faves. I wonder how a pano crop would look on 3, ending just below her hands, just to focus more on the belly? I also like 6,7,8, but (and this is my own personal hang-up about maternity shots in general) I would have preferred her to either have her shirt pulled down like in 9 or to be wearing some sort of a cropped top that naturally ended above her baby bump. The pulled-up-shirt look feels awkward to me, but other than that, these are lovely! clap.gif

PS - The curls poking out from under that hat are so sweet on the cute little girl!

Thanks so much for the feedback. I'll have to try the pano crop. A lot of times I get in the habit of locking my crop and not branching out of the standard dimensions. I noticed what you were talking about with the shirt pulled up that can create some bunching and stuff (especially more noticeable on her side when she is lying down). I'll pay more attention to that in the future. Thanks.

I'm going to make an enlargement as a gift to my grandmother. Which of these two do you prefer?
