Portrait of Jan

Hello,

recently I have being working on a portrait of my friend Jan from Germany. I wanted to get a soft but not to soft light.

I have used one Bowens strobe - Gemini - with a Bowens Beauty Dish.
Camera: Canon 5d mark II with Canon 24-105mm f4 for more exif click here.

    Lovely light, modeling and colours!

    …I think I might have had him stand away from the wall just a tad more in order to get it more out of focus though.

    I might have framed more of the head and less of the shoulders/chest (bland, boring & expansive compared to just the head & shoulders! - just my opinion!)

    I like the lite in this and how the fall-off on his cheeks frame his face. I also like a shirt/jacket that FITS! Pretty much agree with the above comments from Will - As is, it needs some more dynamics, I think.

    It's not boring..it's well done. I would crop the bottom some more..just above the 1st button but that is just me

    Wow! That beauty dish puts out some nice light. Really like the brick.

    Yes, the beauty dish is a great tool. Ps. The diffuser gives a great effect as well.
