Wasn't happy with my previous shots of the stripes with the flower, so I've gone a complete different route. Let me know if any of these are better! - Thanks for the feedback!!

The idea of using a clownfish or similar is a good one. My big concern is that these feel very isolated-- hard to explain, but they feel like tiny crops of much larger pictures. I'm all for isolating your subject, but these feel ... disconnected. ne_nau.gif

Like the concept but I feel there is something missing with these shots.
Not sure what - it may be as Mark says that they seem disconnected.

Okay. I think I see what you mean. #3 is the only shot that is not cropped. Kinda hard to get the little divas to pose in the right spot for composition - and I was more concerned with getting the shot crisp than composition. At least the clowns don't move as fast as the 6-line, so I'll work on it & see if I can get a better composition with them :)

Thanks MarkR & AndMan - appreciate the feedback!

Fish are hard! Kudos for attempting them. The clown fish is more striking. If you end up with one of these, I think #3 is the best.

Forced "the kids" to do another photo shoot today. It finally "clicked" for me while I was shooting these that my prior attempts were more like posting a fish for sale instead of trying to get a shot that shows some personality, tells a story or has some other interest.
I really do appreciate all the feedback - helps me to look at things in ways I wouldn't otherwise. Here's what I've got now (more feedback please!!):

Of the fish pics I like #3 and #7 the best, but specifically for the challenge, I thought that the flower pictures said "stripes" a little more (and I liked the selective color ones... that I didn't know were SC until you mentioned it)... I do like #7 (clownfish/anemone) a lot though...:D

I like #7, also. In 5, the 2 clown fish are OK, but I wish the 3rd one wasn't there. In 6, the BG competes too much.

I also like the original flower pics. I think I mentioned earlier which of those I preferred.

I like 5 and 7.....you could try cloning out the third fish in #5, and see how that looks
