Everything you wanted to know about Adobe Lightroom's JPEG quality settings. Worth reading: http://regex.info/blog/lightroom-goodies/jpeg-quality

Among the surprises, the 0-100 scale really only has 13 discrete settings. This article (by Jeffrey Friedl author of many LR plugins) also shows many great examples, including an interactive view of what different compression settings look like on different types of images. To my surprise, some images look virtually identical at web sizes at quality level 0, while others need to be around 80 to hold up.

If you use Lightroom, you should read this.
