So, here is the official gallery to give your C&C for DSS#55

Once more into the fray. This unofficial feedback thread is a catch-all of sorts, lets make it happen.

Anyway, let's start feedback on DSS #55!!







This thread is:
  • a place to post a list of your top ten favorites. (be heard, and let everyone know what images moved you.)
  • a place to post your "the making of my image"
  • a place to ask someone "how did they do that?"(for us all to see )
Feedback is an important part of the photographic process. While those selected as finalists get feedback from the judges and those who vote, others are never quite sure where they stand. So share your thoughts both in this thread and with comments in the actual gallery. Constructive criticism should always be welcome.

It's easy to post thumbnails (with help from our Moderator).

With the image selected in the gallery, copy its URL from your browser, add "-Th.jpg" to the end, delete the jumble of numbers and letters preceding the hashtag (#), change "gallery" to "photos" and that's it.

    Holy smokes guys--I will never ever curse and swear against judges againrolleyes1.gif. So I know you are tired of hearing this challenge after challenge, but it really was hard to pick 10. I had it down to 14 and just had to go with my gut.
    I thought a couple of the shots that I didn't pick were unbeleivable shots, but I wasn't seeing stripes.

    I really enjoyed the different takes on this challenge.


    Anyway, it was an honor.

    I hear you, Liz. I have been pondering my top 10. There are several clear faves and about 15 others that could easily make my top 10.

    It was a great honor to be a judge for this challenge! And let me tell you, it was definitely a challenge! So many great shots and so hard to choose. But great job to everyone and good luck to all who entered!!!

    (I had to not think too much to keep it down to 5, but I think there's value to highlighting the images that grabbed you in the midst of all the others.)

    I agree with everyone else this is well shot and processed. It's a beautiful image that would make a gorgeous print.

    ghinson-- Earned My Stripes
    Great image. Great story! Outside the norm, which is what I looked for. Beautifully processed. I am a huge fan of your post skills.

    tinamare52- Awaiting the Storm- although I don't think the effect is needed, I think this image is among the best composed of the submissions. Just beautiful. I get a wonderful sense of story, and love
    the elements of storm, waves and bluff in the background.

    JR303- Crisscross
    As my 14yr old daughter said. 'Unexpected and outside the box.' One of my (our) top picks.

    TCMcG- Third Rail
    I'd have to say this is my favorite. I love the original concept and how well it's presented. The blur of the ties in the upper part of the frame and the 'hint' of the rail in the corner really do it for me. Excellent!

    Thank you for listing me.. Its an honor to be selected as a finalist. I am very new to the Color/Graphic aspect of photography as I was a traditional B&W Landscape/Nature shooter for years and this was actually only my second shoot ever.. the 1st being an air show... in any case thank you
