I made a short trip to Arizona with a friend a few weeks ago. The goal was to shoot birds in Tucson and the Chiricahua Mountains.
Except for the heat in Tucson, we had a very good time around there. We shot lots of species which were new for us.
I just wish the trip had been a little longer to be able to photograph all the birds we found. Well, we could try again next year...

Anyway, here are the photos from the trip...

    They are all my favorites
Gee, every shot I looked at I said, "Ah, that's the best," and kept saying it for every one! What a lovely set. The northern cardinal couldn't be more perfect.

    Dan,
    I used the 7D + 500L + 1.4x TC + flash for all shots.

I am sorry we didn't get a chance to shoot together
    in Tucson.
You have some really nice places there. We went to
Sabino Canyon Park and Catalina State Park.
There were lots of good birds there, but the best place
by far was the Cave Creek Ranch near portal.
I'd recommend you spending a few days there
    when you have the chance.

    Cheers,

Yes, I used the better beamer. I also had the flash on a bracket to avoid the steel eye problem. The lens was mounted on a Wimberley head + monopod combo most of the time.

Amazing job, Luis. Great finds, and great shooting. I remember your post from last year. Very inspirational. I really need to get out that way some time for some birding.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
